Mike
Born and raised in Detroit, MI, I spent over 25 years in the transportation industry before retiring and pursuing a second career as a transportation and fiction writer. Over the years, I’ve also built a diverse career in the transportation industry, working as an owner-operator with my own authority, managing dispatch operations for up to 150 trucks during FEMA activations, launching brokerages and 3PLs for other companies, and running my own transportation consulting firm.
Now I’m going back to my roots to help the people like me when I started in trucking, who are running over the road, trying to make all the miles count, but who don’t have downtime to find their next load. I still ghostwrite occasionally, and I’m an avid sports fan, but trucking is in my blood.
Heather
Raised in the trucking industry as the daughter of a truck driver, I bring both real-world experience and operational expertise to everything we do. While I’ve spent time behind the wheel during sugar beet and potato harvests, my professional focus has been on the administrative and operational side of transportation. My first steer tire blowout on my first truck assignment for a farmer has led me to focus on safety for the drivers and their equipment.
I joined Michael during the launch of multiple brokerages and 3PLs, helped establish his consulting firm, and worked directly with client companies to develop systems, negotiate contracts, implement efficient processes, and train owners and staff on new technology. I’ve monitored routes and weather conditions, and maintained consistent communication with drivers to keep their trucks moving safely and on schedule.
