MJ Logistics ND

A dispatch service for the owner/operators

About

Mike

Born and raised in Detroit, MI, I spent over 25 years in the transportation industry before retiring and pursuing a second career as a writer. I began freelance writing part-time in 2013 and transitioned to full-time in 2019. Over my years in the transportation industry, I worked as an owner/operator with my own authority, was running dispatch for up to 150 trucks at a time when called up by FEMA, started brokerages and 3PLs for other companies, and ran my own consulting firm.

Now I’m going back to my roots to help out the people like me when I started, who are running the road, trying to make all the miles count but not have downtime because they can’t find their next load. I still ghostwrite occasionally, and I’m an avid sports fan, but trucking is in my blood.

Heather

Daughter of a truck driver, I’ve spent some time behind the wheel during beet and potato harvests, but I’ve mostly come into the trucking industry from the administrative side. I joined Michael while he was setting up brokerages and 3PLs. I helped create some of the documents needed for his consulting firm, and researched and traveled to meet with some company representatives to negotiate contractual details. I’ve learned new computer systems so I could teach them to the owners and their employees of new trucking companies. I’ve also traced trucking routes, kept eyes on routes for weather conditions, and reached out to drivers.
